Odds and Ends #1

We are going to call these entries "Odds and Ends". We have so much to get caught up on and to share with you that we want to get caught up as quickly as possible so we can start with what is happening now!

Here are a few more pictures of us moving in!

Here is Gracie practicing her "peace out" pose! Expect to see more of this pose b/c it is typically Japanese! And the outfit that she is wearing you may see a woman wearing walking down the street or in the grocery store (except that she is not wearing the ever popular knee high go-go boots!)

One week after we arrived we celebrated Daniels' 2nd Birthday! We were able to find a cake and everything! Daniel loves his choo-choos!

Saying goodbye to Aunt Amy was hard. Boy were we glad that she came to help us get settled. We could not have done it without her!

We were invited to a Halloween party the first week we arrived by another American family. The Japanese really do not celebrate this holiday. As you can see the kids did not have costumes - except Patrick who got creative with the shipping box! And yes, that is Bill participating in the "wrap your parent up like a mummy with toilet paper activity"! Our friend was able to talk some of her Japanese neighbors into giving out candy, so they got to trick-or-treat as well.
