Run, Forest, Run!!

One of the things that Patrick and Kevin prepared for in Gym Class in December was a running race. Last year this was one of the first things that Patrick was able to join in in school. They occurred on different days.

First up was Patrick, in 3rd grade.

His class had to run a long route, I think as much as a mile, around the entire school property. First though, they had to stretch and warm up:

You'll notice that Patrick's teacher is holding the starting gun. And either one kid is really fast, or jumped the gun!

He did about the same as last year, but didn't pace himself well and was passed towards the end by several other students.

But he still enjoyed it:

He finished in the top 10 of his class and was quite happy with that.

The most interesting thing was that all the Japanese kept calling it a Marathon!
